What if children were being taught more about mental health and mental illness in school? How could this be beneficial to them and others around them? This doesn’t seem very important at first, but it can really impact their life.

Mental illness is becoming more common, but the problem is that not many people really understand what it is. Children aren’t taught much about mental health and mental illness in school. This is a subject that should be taught in great detail, but unfortunately it isn’t. Students aren’t taught what it is and what to do when faced with it. Not only this, but teachers aren’t trained to know what to do if they have a student suffering from mental illness. If teachers knew which of their students, if any, were having a hard time, they would be able to help them better. The teachers could cater to all of their students more. If teachers knew what all of their students were going through, they could have them in mind while teaching their class.

If people were more aware of mental illness, we could help them to have a better learning environment. We could help to change things at school so that they are able to learn in the way that they understand (or like more). It can be hard for some kids to talk in front of people or to be motivated to do work. Medicine often isn’t enough—every little thing can help.

The way that we can fix this is by making it a bigger part of the curriculum, and have special training for teachers about what to do when they notice one of their students struggling with mental illness. We need to recognize how these kids are suffering and try to help them. We can do this by figuring out what kids are suffering from mental illness and find out how to best help their needs. The teachers can change the way that they teach or the way that they do homework so that those kids have a better learning experience. This can make a life-changing difference, and they can learn so much more. When we teach kids about mental illness, it will give them information so that if they are having some of the symptoms of mental illness, they will know what to do and how to help themselves, or they will know if they need to get help. Students would be more excited to go to school instead of dreading it—creating a better learning environment.
