My First Blog Post

I created this website for my English class. My teacher said that I could pick whatever topic I wanted. I thought about it and finally decided to do it on mental health. I want to learn more about mental health so that I can be more aware of it. I want to be able to help people that struggle with it. I want to research how it affects the body and the brain. I also want to look up ways to cope with it. I think that this is a big topic today because many people struggle with it. I want to share the information that I find with others so that they can be more aware as well. I want to look into many mental illnesses; anxiety and depression are common mental illnesses.

The Virus

Things have been crazy lately with this Corona Virus. Life goes from being crazy busy to not crazy busy. I was constantly running everywhere and now there are times that I just sit down and try to decide if there’s anything productive that I can do. This quarantine has been good in a way because I’m not constantly going to different places, but it’s been hard because I can’t go anywhere. I’ve realized that being busy is a good thing even though it can be stressful. This can be a hard time to be dealing with mental illness because you are stuck inside your house all day, and there isn’t really much to do. It’s also hard because it has created a lot of fear; there is so much unknown. In this time we have to realize that this is hard, but that we can get through it. Things are hard now, but they will get better with time. We need to remember to have hope. If we don’t have hope, life can be miserable. There are still things to be happy about!

This is my Plan

I have been doing a lot more research about mental illness and how to help lessen it’s effects. I have decided to do a page of instructions on what to do if you are faced with mental illness. It will talk about what to do from identifying it to finding out what works best for you. There isn’t one right thing about what to do to lessen the effects of mental illness. It’s an ongoing thing, and everyone is so different. I want to help by laying out a lot of options for you to choose from so that if one doesn’t work, you can try another one. I also wrote a page about new things that I have found, so hopefully that can help some people as well.

A Little Bit of What I Know

I knew a lot about mental illness when I started this website, but I have learned so much more as I continue to make this website. I have learned that many children aren’t getting the help that they need with their mental illness. Some people also may not know that they are suffering from mental illness. I have also been thinking about it a lot more, so I have thought about different ways that we could help others that are suffering from mental illness. There are many things that we could be doing differently to help children to learn the way that is best for them.
